Cuaderno de la revolución is the story of a filmmaker who shoots a film. It is also the story of the revolution led by the Asturian workers and peasants in October 1934, "The Last Proletarian Revolution in Western Europe. But about this book is a journey through words, songs and places, and a reflection on how film can approach the collective political memory.

Ramón Lluis Bande

Born in Xixón in 1972, Ramón Lluís Bande is a filmmaker and writer. Some of his most noteworthy films are non-fiction titles such as El fulgor (2002), Estratexa (2003), De la Fuente (2004), El paisano, Un retratu colectivu (2005), La carta de Bárbara (2007), Equí y n’otru tiempu (2014), El nome de los árboles (2015), Vida vaquera (2016) or Escoréu, 24 d'avientu de 1937 (2017). Among his fiction works are: Malu (1999), L’aire les castañes (2001), Divina Lluz (2005) or Llar (2014) – in collaboration with Elisa Cepedal. He has also directed music films for Nacho Vegas, Manta Ray, Mus, Viva las Vegas, Nacho Álvarez or Losone, among others. In recent years he has created and directed several documentary series for the Asturian public television channel (RTPA), such as Camín de cantares (2007-2011), Camín (2012-2016), Ende (2012) – co-directed with Luis Argeo – Güelos (2014) or L’alzada (2015). For more than ten years he has been directing the audiovisual magazine on Asturian culture, Pieces, for the same channel. Having published some twelve books, a selection of his narrative work, originally written in the Asturian language, was translated into Spanish in the volume Las habitaciones vacías (Caballo de Troya, 2010). His latest books are “Cuaderno del paisaje. Materiales para un ensayo cinematográfico sobre la guerrilla republicana asturiana” (Notebook on the landscape. Materials for a cinematic essay on the Asturian republican guerrilla. Shangrila, 2016) and “¡Templu, cabaña!” (Impronta, 2017).
