This is a story about friendship and community. A portrait of Knucks, a Nigerian musician growing up in Kilburn, London. A story told through the voices of his friends, family and collaborators.
Lauren Luxenberg is Canadian director living in London. She is part of Dazed Digital’s best in class rising female creatives. Her first ever short film 3:24 was nominated at Aesthetica Film Festival in December 2021 and she has since created several short films for NOWNESS, YouTube, McCann, WPP and several brands. In her personal projects she heavily focuses on providing a for platform to artists in emerging communities and giving their art global resonance.
Alfie Barker is a Leeds born/raised writer and director who grew up making short films with his dog instead of going to university. His short HANGING ON was long-listed for a BIFA, shortlisted for a Grierson Award, premiering at TIFF, screening at BFI London Film Festival and won both Best British Short and UK Audience Award at Encounters. Alfie is a previous BFI Future Film Award winner. He was selected as a director on Screen Yorkshire's FLEX talent development, and is an alumni of BFI Film Academy (NFTS) & Creative UK’s ShortFLIX.
