Synopsis

AUTO is a documentary which comes along at just the right time to portray the moment of convulsive change when many artists and bands decide to take control of their careers and produce and edit their own work for themselves, at their own risk, questioning the role of traditional record labels and companies.

Vetusta Morla go on the road, plunging into the tour to launch their second self-released album. Jero Romero (ex Sunday Drivers) creates and launches his first solo record, financed by his fans through the Internet. Nacho Vegas leaves his old record label and, together with other artists, sets up Marxophone, a cooperative label. Fernando Alfaro and Joaquín Pascual (ex Surfin Bichos), living legends out of the commercial spotlight, reunite to perform part of their repertoire exclusively for this documentary.
AUTO is, in the words of its director, “a human portrait, a story about artists and their searching, about succeeding and yet moving on, or about failing but not giving up trying.”
